Experience Romania’s flavours and culture with our food and wine tour! Get outside of Bucharest to visit a historical mansion and enjoy an excellent wine tasting, followed by an immersion in the local cuisine.

Our tour starts with the visit of the beautifully renovated Bellu Mansion, a typical mid-19^th century home of an important family in Romania. The building’s value is increased by the original furniture and art, and by its rich history. Now a museum complex, the mansion and bell tower include a large collection of 19^th century photography equipment and photographs that showcase life of that era.

We continue our day with a tour of a local vineyard and wine tasting in one of the most important wine regions of Romania. Our country’s wine is starting to get noticed on the world stage, with more and more vineyards winning top prizes at international competitions. The Dealul Mare region has long been recognized for having perfect conditions for wine making. The Romans themselves cultivated grapes here. We will taste 6 different wines, all while learning about the history of the place, discovering the production processes, and enjoying the views of Romania’s Tuscany.

Our afternoon will be spent at one of the best Romanian restaurants in the region, not far from the vineyard. This restaurant has become internationally known for its traditional methods of slow-cooking food, grown locally in this family-owned farm. It’s the perfect way to fully immerse yourself in the Romanian culture, eating great food, listening to live music, and tasting a plum brandy!

Be sure to be dressed for the weather and for a few hours of walking (including on uneven ground). We recommend having some money on you for any souvenirs that may peak your interest, for a coffee break, and for lunch.
